Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Engineering Project Coordinator to join our team. This role will report directly to the Project Director and is essential as we expand our operations. The Engineering Project Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that project goals and deliverables are clearly communicated, managed, and achieved.

Your expertise will be crucial in overseeing the engineering aspects of the commercial facility, including the execution of the Feasibility Study and comprehensive engineering tasks.

Your analytical skills will aid in making pivotal decisions that contribute to the establishment of a groundbreaking lithium processing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will undertake the following duties:

  • Provide project management assistance for the engineering of the lithium processing facility, collaborating with EPC contractors to deliver the Feasibility Study and detailed engineering for the commercial plant.
  • Conduct optimization studies throughout the Feasibility Study and detailed engineering phases, presenting findings and recommendations to management.
  • Oversee the detailed design and construction of assigned plant units post-feasibility studies.
  • Contribute innovative solutions to improve project results.
  • Engage proactively during the design phase to ensure all constructability aspects are thoroughly evaluated.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed safely, within the designated timeline, and budget.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications and Experience:
We are seeking candidates with 10 to 30 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) and previous experience in lithium and industrial inorganic water processes will be advantageous.

Experience managing plant projects exceeding $100 million is essential. Familiarity with both EPC and Owner/Operator roles, as well as collaboration with engineering firms, fabrication shops, and contractors, is preferred.

Experience in both Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed design phases, HAZOP analyses, and materials selection is required. Knowledge of Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and Management of Change (MOC) systems is beneficial.

Technical process knowledge is an asset, along with the ability to conduct comprehensive assessments of project-related decisions, including impacts on schedule, economics, constructability, maintainability, and operability.

Familiarity with Alberta's infrastructure and logistics is a plus. A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Alberta and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent would be advantageous.
