Job Summary

The Metro Toronto Convention Centre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stewarding Supervisor to join our team. As a Stewarding Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Stewarding department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of Stewarding staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Assist with the training and development of new employees, as well as existing staff members.
  • Monitor and control labour costs, ensuring that they are within budget.
  • Delegate tasks and duties to Stewarding staff as required, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Accountable for the performance of assigned staff during their shift.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including time keeping and labour costs.
  • Ensure adherence to all legal and company policies and procedures, taking disciplinary action when necessary.

Requirements

  • At least 2-5 years of relevant supervisory experience in the Stewarding or Kitchen areas within the Hospitality industry.
  • Previous experience in a unionized environment.
  • WHMIS Certification is required.
  • Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Availability to work the overnight shift starting at 10:00 pm.
