About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Solutions Development Manager to join our team at the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO). As a key member of our Application Development team, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance and operation of our technical team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to the technical team, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and the maintenance of high-quality technical standards.
  • Project Management: Manage small to medium-sized projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Resource Allocation: Effectively allocate resources to meet business needs, ensuring the right skills and expertise are applied to each project.
  • Vendor Management: Work with vendors to scope and deliver services, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and lead the team in implementing changes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions and services.
Requirements
  • Education: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience in systems management and/or development, with at least 3 years of experience leading a technical team.
  • Skills: Strong technical leadership and project management skills, with experience in multiple delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.).
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Java and J2EE technologies, data integrations, DevOps, and Microservices.
