Job Title: Health, Safety and Environment Lead

At BGIS, we are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Lead to join our team. As a key member of our HSE team, you will be responsible for developing, leading, and executing health, safety, and environment programs for assigned accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute health, safety, and environment programs to promote a high health, safety, and environment culture for assigned accounts.
  • Provide guidance and advice to account and client team members on health, safety, and environment matters, ensuring compliance with all applicable internal and external requirements.
  • Collaborate with account teams to ensure team members have adequate tools and resources to execute work safely.
  • Maintain health, safety, and environment management systems registration, including ISO 14001, CSA Z1000, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 45001.
  • Conduct internal systems audits and execute annual re-registration process requirements.
  • Develop and manage key performance indicators related to HSE, including LTIR, TRIR, Near Miss reports, Halocarbon leak reports, and spills.
  • Develop and continuously improve health, safety, and environment management systems and associated processes and procedures.
  • Assist clients with coordination of employee engagement initiatives, such as Waste Reduction Week and Earth Week.
Requirements:
  • College degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Sciences.
  • 3-5 years of health, safety, and environment program execution work experience.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environment regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environment management systems, including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, CSA Z1000, and OHSAS 18001.
  • Strong program development and execution abilities.
  • Bilingual French/English required, depending on the account.
  • Ability to promote health, safety, and environment programs and influence stakeholders to achieve health, safety, and environment objectives.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including client representatives at the senior to executive management level.
