Job Summary
The First Nations Health Authority is seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse in Charge to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide leadership and guidance on a comprehensive range of core nursing functions and services within a First Nations community.
About the Role
As the Nurse in Charge, you will be responsible for:
- Providing professional guidance and assistance to community leaders and other community health care team members in acquiring knowledge and skill.
- Working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team to promote health, prevent disease and injury, protect population health, and provide curative, urgent and emergent care, rehabilitation, and supportive or palliative care.
- Developing and implementing nursing plans and programs to meet the unique needs of the First Nations community.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and services to community members.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP).
- Must be Remote certified (RNC) with BCCNM.
- Successful completion of approved training in public health nursing or approved training in obstetrics, mental health, or some other specialty.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's license and own a vehicle.
- An understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols.
- Knowledge of nursing processes.
Preferred Qualifications
You may have experience in:
- Primary care, disease and injury prevention, health protection, curative, urgent and emergent care, medical / surgical, rehabilitation and supportive or palliative care.
