Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team at Mills Haven Elementary. As a key member of our school community, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers with instructional and non-instructional tasks in the classroom and with other school activities.
  • Work as a member of the school and student support team to provide routine and repetitive instructional support to students.
  • Follow an individually prescribed learning program, working one-on-one with students to help them acquire the education and skills necessary for advancement in the educational setting.
  • Provide personal care and additional assistance for students as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Education Assistant Certificate or comparable education
  • First Aid certificate
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
  • Courses related to working with students with special needs
  • Minimum of one-year related experience
Desirable Skills and Competencies
  • Strong oral and listening communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with tact and diplomacy
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and pacing skills to support student scheduling
  • Reliability and dependability
