Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team at Skyluxe Roofing and Sheet Metal. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate estimates of labour and material costs for our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects, taking into account factors such as materials, labour, and equipment costs.
  2. Develop pre-qualification submissions to present to clients, highlighting our company's expertise and capabilities.
  3. Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and ensure accurate estimates.
  4. Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads, including costs such as insurance, permits, and other miscellaneous expenses.
  5. Conduct economic feasibility studies and provide preliminary estimates for proposed projects, including cash flow and financing requirements.
  6. Project manage the estimation process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of estimates to clients.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in estimating software, including AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
