Baker Tilly is in search of a Senior Staff Accountant to enhance our dynamic team.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing a variety of accounting and tax engagements, including personal and corporate tax returns, as well as compilation, review, and audit engagements with detailed client financial statement disclosures.
  • Participating in client meetings, maintaining regular communication to understand their business needs, and cultivating strong client relationships.
  • Assisting in the training and development of new team members.
  • Managing multiple deadlines throughout the fiscal year.
  • Providing support, guidance, and development opportunities for mentees.
  • Preparing and delivering technical presentations to firm staff.
  • Understanding the financial implications of engagements, including time budgets, work in process variances, and billing processes.
  • Staying informed about relevant accounting standards and evolving tax regulations.
  • Completing various CRA filings for clients as required, including HST and responding to CRA inquiries.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Designation, or is currently enrolled in the CPA program, or possesses relevant experience in a firm setting.
  • 2-5 years of experience in the accounting sector (experience with review and audit engagements is an asset).
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Familiarity with Caseware and TaxPrep software is considered beneficial.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong project management capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • A strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A solid understanding of a client-focused, fast-paced work environment, with the ability to prioritize and manage deliverables to meet competing deadlines.
