About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our Integrated Design team at Stantec Consulting International Ltd. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects within the Energy and Resource sector, ranging from studies to detail engineering projects in North America and across the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural design and analysis to applicable codes for heavy industrial/energy infrastructure steel structures and concrete foundations.
  • Develop designs through sketches, hand calculations, and structural analysis software models.
  • Work with Engineers and Designers on fit-for-purpose designs that meet the client's needs and requests.
  • Interface with other disciplines and project management to execute projects per the project plan.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to EITs and designers as part of their professional development.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects within Stantec's quality control guidelines.
  • Prepare and coordinate project specifications including construction documents.
  • Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or clients.
  • Participate in value engineering and cost estimating.
Requirements
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Canada with 5 to 15 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on industrial infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of structural systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Experience with heavy industrial structures is highly valued.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and time management skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.
