About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate live-in nanny to join our household team at Dorcas Thomas. As a key member of our household staff, you will be responsible for providing top-notch care and support to our children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and educational needs are met.

Responsibilities
  • Household Management: Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, including light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • Childcare: Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children, as well as supervise and care for them.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, keeping records of daily activities and health information regarding children.
  • Emotional Support: Tend to the emotional well-being of children, providing a nurturing and supportive environment.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative tasks, including maintaining records and communicating with parents as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in childcare or a related field.
  • Work Environment: Non-smoking and scent-free environment.
  • Work Setting: Employer's home, with a 40-hour workweek.
  • Security Clearance: Basic security clearance and vulnerable sector check required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Special Needs Children: Experience caring for children with autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, or ADD.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
