Job Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Facility Operations Supervisor is to oversee and manage all maintenance activities, including routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and physical upkeep of educational facilities. This role encompasses a total area of responsibility exceeding 9,275 square meters. The supervisor will also coordinate and execute maintenance tasks while leading a team of maintenance staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Team Leadership:**
- Act as a team leader, organizing and supervising maintenance operations in accordance with established schedules.
- Provide feedback on work quality and report findings.
2. **Facility Maintenance:**
- Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the premises by organizing and executing cleaning tasks.
- Maintain equipment and ensure it is in optimal working condition.
3. **Building Oversight:**
- Conduct inspections of lighting, heating, and ventilation systems.
- Perform or coordinate necessary preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
- Report any issues and ensure timely repairs are conducted.
4. **Safety and Security:**
- Implement measures to safeguard against theft and fire hazards.
- Monitor access to the facility as required.
5. **Inventory Management:**
- Identify and procure materials and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
- Maintain inventory and ensure compliance with safety standards for product usage and disposal.
6. **Collaboration and Reporting:**
- Collaborate with other staff members and provide guidance to non-specialized employees.
- Utilize computer systems and software as needed for reporting and task management.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
- General knowledge of heating, ventilation, lighting, and alarm systems.
- Basic understanding of various building trades.
Working Conditions:
- Competitive hourly wage.
- Governed by the collective agreement with the independent association of support staff.
