Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Shared Health. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our laboratory services by assisting with sample triaging, accessioning, and processing of specimens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist laboratory staff with sample processing and testing
  • Perform phlebotomies according to departmental policy
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and maintain standards put forth by Accreditation
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations
Requirements
  • Completed Grade 12 or equivalent, Manitoba Standards, is required
  • Completion of a Medical Laboratory Assistant program is preferred
  • Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) Medical Laboratory Assistant Certification preferred
  • Windows computer environment required
  • Microsoft Office programs preferred
  • Medical terminology preferred
  • Sterile techniques and routine practices preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality
  • Fluent language skills (written and oral) in both French and English may be required
