About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Controller to join our team at SMBC Group. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading the Accounting team and overseeing the financial operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Analysis:
    • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to inform business decisions
    • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business growth and expansion
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance:
    • Prepare and review financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
    • Ensure timely submission of regulatory returns and tax filings
  • Financial Controls and Risk Management:
    • Develop and maintain financial controls and risk management processes to mitigate financial risks
    • Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with financial controls and regulatory requirements
  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead and manage the Accounting team to ensure effective financial operations
    • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure their professional development and growth

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education and Certifications:
    • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, mathematics, or business
    • CPA/CA designation
  • Experience and Skills:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial leadership and management
    • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
