We are looking for a dedicated Senior Electrical Engineer to join our esteemed team at Mott MacDonald. This role is based in Calgary and offers an opportunity to engage in a variety of innovative projects within the built environment sector.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Building Services team, taking charge of project responsibilities that include:

  • Leading the design and coordination of electrical systems for diverse projects.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance.
  • Collaborating with various engineering disciplines such as civil, structural, and mechanical to ensure project success.
  • Assisting senior management with the commercial and contractual aspects of projects.
  • Contributing to proposal writing and bid submissions.
  • Delivering technical presentations and monitoring project progress.
  • Participating in projects across different sectors and locations as needed.

To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in managing and designing building services projects, including power distribution, emergency systems, and security solutions.
  • Eligibility for or possession of a professional engineering license.
  • In-depth knowledge of local and national electrical codes and regulations.
  • Experience in specialized sectors such as healthcare, aviation, or industrial facilities is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with various project delivery methods.
  • LEED Certification and/or PMP credentials are considered assets.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent teamwork abilities.
  • A keen interest in utilizing BIM methodologies and technology-driven solutions.
  • Proficiency in standard office software and design engineering tools.
