Product Manager

Canadian Solar is seeking a highly skilled Product Manager to lead the development and launch of our battery inverter products. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for driving the product roadmap, working closely with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful launch of new products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute product roadmaps, including market analysis and technical due diligence.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and qualify new products, including technical product requirements and supplier recommendations.
  • Manage the development of competitive and forward-looking battery inverter solutions, including string inverters and energy storage systems.
  • Work with procurement and engineering teams to negotiate technical requirements with suppliers and ensure compliance with codes and certifications.
  • Communicate acceptance criteria, expected behaviors, and performance metrics to the QA team.
  • Manage elements of the existing and future US and Americas product portfolio, including creating, maintaining, and updating product roadmaps.
  • Research, analyze, and draft market requirements for existing and new products, including communicating with customers and sales teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline, with a preference for postgraduate degrees in engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in engineering and/or product development in inverters or the energy storage industry.
  • Strong understanding of power electronics and battery technologies.
  • Ability to convincingly and effectively communicate with customers, independent engineers, laboratories, industry working groups, and regulatory authorities.
  • Articulate with strong writing and presentation skills in person and remotely via webinar tools.
  • Excellent social and interpersonal skills.
