About the Opportunity
The Royal Conservatory is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Service Desk Assistant to join our team. As the first point of contact for students, faculty, and visitors, you will provide exceptional customer service and support, ensuring a seamless experience for all.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide top-notch customer service and assistance to students, faculty, and the public
- Assign and control access to practicing and teaching spaces, ensuring accurate and efficient management
- Handle inbound phone calls and emails, responding promptly and professionally
- Collaborate with building services staff to provide accurate details for room and equipment set-ups
- Coordinate inventory and demand for room keys and equipment, ensuring optimal utilization
- Input bookings into the online schedule, process administrative tasks, and maintain accurate records
- Sale of practice cards, including cash handling, POS debits, and nightly reconciliation
- Provide mailroom relief when required, coordinating mail, couriers, and office supply requests
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail, strong personal initiative, and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on building strong relationships
- Familiarity with cash-handling and POS terminals, with a strong understanding of financial procedures
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with proficiency in data entry and record-keeping
- Ability to work in a high-pressure atmosphere, responding to customer demands while maintaining focus and composure
Additional Information
- Hourly rate: $16.55 per hour
- Scheduling flexibility for shifts: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
