Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Philanthropy Director to join our team at Trinity Western University. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and stewarding relationships with major donors, developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve fundraising goals, and working collaboratively with the Advancement team to advance the university's mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Major Gift Portfolio Management
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for stewarding a major gift portfolio, in collaboration with the Senior Vice President of Advancement.
    • Manage and grow a portfolio of donors capable of contributing $10,000 - $500,000 annually.
  • Donor Analysis and Data Management
    • Continuously update the prospect management database with relevant information related to donor strategies, contacts, and results.
    • Work collaboratively with the Advancement team to implement events and initiatives that build, maintain, and involve the broader TWU community to support the university's vision, mission, and goals.
  • Strategic Planning and Implementation
    • Develop a deep knowledge and understanding of TWU's priorities, needs, culture, community, academic and co-curricular strengths.
    • Uphold the university's giving policies and procedures.
    • Enhance professional skills through seminars, conferences, training, and individual mentoring.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Provide leadership and guidance to the Advancement team to achieve fundraising goals.
    • Work collaboratively with the Senior Vice President of Advancement to develop and implement strategic plans.

  • A dedicated and mature evangelical Christian with an earnest desire to serve in family, church, work, and community.
  • Genuine and personal commitment to TWU's mission, values, Statement of Faith, and Community Covenant.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle budget and schedule pressures.
  • Driven and inspired by the idea of positively impacting the various marketplaces of life through the development of godly Christian leaders by serving the Trinity Western University community.
