The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a dedicated full-time professional to focus on either a combination of Clinical-Medical Microbiology or a comprehensive consultative service within the Infectious Diseases sector of the Internal Medicine Department. As a prominent healthcare facility, we provide a range of specialized services, including a Level 2A Intensive Care Unit. Our organization is looking for additional expertise in the Infectious Diseases area, encompassing clinical and inpatient care, Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) support, Antimicrobial Stewardship (AS), and physician-led Medical Microbiology oversight. Our facility is equipped with a fully operational microbiology and diagnostic/pathology laboratory that serves the broader community.
Key Responsibilities- Delivering thorough primary healthcare services to patients across all age groups and health conditions
- Collaborating with fellow team members for effective cross-coverage and prompt patient access
- Participating in quality enhancement initiatives and assessment activities
- Keeping patient records updated in an electronic medical record (EMR) system to ensure seamless access for the collaborative team
- All applicants must fulfill the licensure requirements of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is mandatory
- Completion of specialty training equivalent to FRCPC in either Infectious Diseases or Medical Microbiology is essential
