Exploration Geologist

Newmont Corporation seeks a skilled Exploration Geologist to contribute to our dynamic team at the Éléonore mine site.
In this role, you will play a vital part in advancing our exploration and development initiatives within the mining sector. Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying and evaluating potential mineral resources.
- Core Responsibilities:
- Participate actively in both surface and underground drilling campaigns, ensuring efficient and accurate data collection.
- Provide comprehensive support to exploration activities and mine development projects, contributing to the success of our operational goals.
- Conduct meticulous drill core descriptions and surface mapping, generating detailed geological interpretations.
- Maintain and update geological models, incorporating new data and insights to enhance our understanding of the subsurface.
- Oversee departmental finances, meticulously tracking invoices, expenses, and budgets to ensure financial accountability.
- Adhere strictly to company regulations and policies, prioritizing health and safety protocols in all operations.
- Embrace a collaborative approach, working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives.
Qualifications:
- Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of proven experience within the mining industry, showcasing a strong understanding of exploration and development practices.
- Familiarity with the Quebec mining titles management system is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in utilizing industry-standard software such as MDM (Deswick), GED, and ArcGIS is essential for success in this role.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is a valuable asset, facilitating effective communication within our diverse team.
- Hold or be actively pursuing registration with the Quebec Order of Geologists or Engineers.
Working Conditions:
- This position offers a 40-hour workweek, adhering to a 4 days on, 3 days off schedule, providing a healthy work-life balance.
- The role combines a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for both remote work and on-site presence at the Éléonore mine site, offering flexibility and diverse work environments.
