Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and validate payroll information, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the administration and processing of payroll activities, including garnishments and record-keeping.
  • Issue Records of employment, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to company policies.
  • Process, compile, and submit garnishments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Respond to colleagues on payroll matters, utilizing effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Process required profile changes, such as sick leave, vacation, and hourly rate adjustments, in compliance with Employment Standards Acts, Union Agreements, and Company Policies.
  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of over 400 Union Agreements, ensuring accurate application and interpretation.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned, contributing to the smooth operation of the payroll department.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Post-secondary education in a related field or willingness to enroll in payroll courses, demonstrating a commitment to professional development.
    • A minimum of one year general office experience, preferably within a payroll environment, showcasing adaptability and a strong work ethic.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Must be highly motivated, with the ability to manage a large volume of work and meet strict deadlines, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, ensuring seamless workflow and efficient operations.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of internal and external customers, fostering strong relationships and resolving issues effectively.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential information, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to company policies.
    • Must be detail-oriented, with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring the integrity of payroll data and processes.
    • Ability to work flexible hours when required, demonstrating a willingness to adapt to changing business needs.
    • Team Player, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
