Job Title: HVAC Sales Engineer

O'Dell HVAC Group, a leading HVAC solutions provider in Canada, is seeking an experienced HVAC Sales Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving engineering specifications to secure business opportunities and developing strong relationships with customers and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive engineering specifications to secure business opportunities
  • Develop and maintain customer and vendor relationships
  • Support business development and sales teams
  • Prospect for new customers and identify business opportunities
  • Provide input on quotes and bids for projects regarding equipment design and selection
  • Provide detailed evaluations of competitive products to communicate the value of O'Dell's product solutions
  • Hunt for new business opportunities and identify potential customers
  • Assist with troubleshooting on any issues arising with mechanical equipment
  • Coordinate with the Technical Support Team as required
  • Assist design-build contractors with project design and act as a point of contact for any issues that may arise
  • Complete required product training to remain up-to-date on the latest technologies
  • Train new sales employees and facilitate internal training sessions as required
  • Participate in networking and business development opportunities, including lunches with clients, charity events, and industry events
  • Provide presentations to customers on new products and technologies
  • Perform ongoing project site visits to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Connect with new and prospective customers to build relationships and provide information about new products and technologies
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Estimators on product selection, pricing, and take-offs
Requirements:
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in an engineering sales role within the HVAC market
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or similar technical education
  • Ability to read construction drawings and perform accurate take-offs and pricing
  • Expertise in sales techniques combined with strong customer service skills
  • Valid G driver's license and own reliable vehicle
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with quoting or project management, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with HVAC selection software
  • Working knowledge of The Ontario Building Code and associated ASHRAE Standards
  • High level of skill in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and proficiency with CRM software (NetSuite)
