Job Summary

Brandt is seeking a skilled Service Writer to join our Laval Construction & Forestry team. As a Service Writer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and on-time reports and records relative to the Service Department's operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Field internal and external customer inquiries to the Service Department, providing timely and effective solutions to their needs.
  • Work Order Management: Opens work orders as directed by the Service Manager/Shop Foreman and maintains control until they are closed and invoiced, ensuring seamless communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Service Library Management: Maintains the service library with current information, including files, bulletins, manuals, and multi-media resources, under the direct supervision of the Service Manager.
  • Filing and Records: Maintains Service Department filing and records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is readily available.
  • Customer Profile Updates: Updates customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from the customer work orders, providing a comprehensive understanding of customer needs.
  • Supply Management: Maintains accessories and supplies, prepares replacement orders, and ensures the necessary tools and equipment are available for optimal performance.
  • Reporting and Analysis: May prepare Service Technician efficiency reports, providing valuable insights for process improvement and optimization.
  • Claims Processing: May process warranty and/or product improvement claims, including the computation of charges, submission, and follow-up, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Skills: Basic knowledge of accounting practices, general understanding of mechanical/technical terms, and proficiency in standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
