About the Role

Ainsworth is seeking a highly skilled Senior BAS Service Technician to join our Ottawa team. As a key member of our project team, you will work closely with our BAS Service Manager to deliver exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of BAS solutions to our customer base within the Construction/Operation Department.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure successful site commissioning, point-to-point verifications, troubleshooting, and startups of BAS, HVAC equipment, and lighting controls systems.
  • Contribute to project and service group documentation.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Ainsworth's Safe Work and H&S Policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with HVAC and DDC fundamentals, as well as Schneider Electric BAS product portfolio.
  • Complete Schneider Electric product-specific training prior to factory training.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of BAS networking and system integration.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a BAS service technician role.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by Ainsworth.
  • Pass security screening as required by Ainsworth's Government clients and/or be bondable.
  • Fluent in English (written and oral) and French (a definite asset).
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specs, as well as product documentation.
  • Graduate of a post-secondary technical or engineering program.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Visio or scripted programming language.
  • Medium physical duties, including standing for long periods, climbing ladders, and working from heights (with fall arrest protection provided).
  • Some travel may be requested, with reimbursement for mileage and expenses.
