Job Title: Direct Materials Buyer

We are seeking a highly skilled Direct Materials Buyer to join our team at Aliaxis. As a key member of our Direct Purchasing Team, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of direct materials for our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Bill Of Material (BOM) coverage for our manufacturing facilities, ensuring timely delivery of products at the best value.
  • Optimize inventory levels for the Organization's manufacturing sites, utilizing inventory management best practices.
  • Initiate and implement replenishment programs for BOM items, focusing on automation and process optimization.
  • Develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure Supply Chain activities align with business objectives.
  • Report and analyze weekly/monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with explanations of variances.
  • Maintain master data in our ERP system, ensuring planning records are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Release purchase orders after validation of MRP recommendations, considering budget and demand forecast.
  • Monitor Requisitioning Systems, analyze, and validate requirements, creating purchase orders for Direct Items.
  • Manage inventory levels using KANBAN/Min-Max to ensure sites have materials for daily operations.
  • Work with Strategic Sourcing on sourcing activities and contract implementation, as well as ongoing contract management and vendor management activities.
  • Monitor and support on-time delivery of issued Purchase Orders through open order management tools and resources.
  • Manage and monitor product complaints and resolution through Quality SCAR process.
  • Support new product implementation process utilizing a Stage Gate process, led by Innovation.
  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain purchasing/inventory management reports.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, or related field is preferred.
  • APICS, CPIM, CSCP, SCMAO – certifications are an asset.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Inventory Management, Purchasing, or related business experience (Indirect or Direct purchasing in a manufacturing environment).
  • Well-developed supply chain experience with strengths in vendor management and strategic vision.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience in PowerBI would be a strong asset.
