About the Role

Nasittuq Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Security Officer to lead our security operations for the North Warning System. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of security and compliance with government regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Clearance Management: Oversee the process of obtaining and maintaining government security clearances for employees and subcontractors, ensuring timely and accurate completion of Personnel Security Screening Requests.
  • Controlled Goods Program: Act as Nasittuq's Controlled Goods Designated Official, ensuring employees are trained on handling and security requirements, and conducting regular audits.
  • Security Reporting: Prepare and submit required reports to government agencies regarding security clearance status and compliance.
  • Security Awareness: Foster a culture of security awareness by developing and implementing company-wide Security Awareness Training.
  • Security File Management: Maintain security files, including protected/classified documentation.
  • Security Planning: Prepare, implement, and administer Security Plans relating to the North Warning System and Alert contracts.
  • Communication Security: Manage the North Warning System Communications Security Account, developing and implementing policies, standards, and guidelines related to personnel, facilities, and communication security.
  • Investigations and Risk Assessment: Lead investigations into security breaches, physical security incidents, and other security-related issues, conducting audits and risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary education in security-related fields, such as security management, law enforcement, or certifications in security-related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of demonstrated industry leadership in security program preparation and implementation, combined with previous work experience with Government of Canada security clearance processes and regulations.
  • Knowledge: Government of Canada security clearance processes, with a deep understanding of Government of Canada security clearance databases and systems.
  • Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in writing, developing, and implementing incident response plans, intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Outlook, ability to provide direction and inspire a security-conscious culture, expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks, and proven ability to develop and implement crisis management and response plans.
