Role Overview
As a software engineer, you will spearhead the design and implementation of software services and web stacks that involve engaging creatives, cross-platform placements, targeting, optimization, relevance, and advertiser interactions.
You will develop entirely new distributed software applications utilizing cloud services and proprietary Amazon technologies to deliver exceptional customer and advertiser experiences.
Your role will involve frequent collaboration with various teams across Amazon, including discovery, retail categories, traffic generation, vendor management, and analytics, among others.
This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain insights into multiple aspects of advertising and retail, understanding how they integrate, and equipping you with the skills necessary for career advancement.

Team Overview
The Books Advertising team is dedicated to launching, accelerating, and differentiating the advertising business within the publishing sector. We oversee the complete advertising experience for readers, shoppers, publishers, and authors, which includes ad supply, creative development, ad serving, and user experience for book audiences.
With a broad mandate for experimentation and innovation, we are growing rapidly to explore a variety of new opportunities.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship)
- 2+ years of experience in design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems (non-internship)
- Proficiency in at least one programming language
- 3+ years of comprehensive software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
