Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at Bayshore Medical Personnel. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with ill and/or injured military personnel to reduce/eliminate barriers impacting participation in valued roles and routines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and treat military personnel with varying levels of injury or illness
  • Consult/advise regionally with medical authorities on occupational therapy practice
  • Provide oversight of regional or local occupational therapy services
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities
  • Deliver instruction in areas of expertise to support teaching activities
  • Support research activities
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities

Requirements:

  • Licence in good standing order with the provincial or territorial professional college or association
  • Certificate of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year experience working as an Occupational Therapist with various orthopaedic, musculoskeletal, neurological, pre and postsurgical adult populations
  • Experience with at least four of the following specific rehabilitation fields: upper extremity injuries, chronic pain patients, cognitive and/or mental health rehabilitation, home access assessment and modifications, provision of assistive devices/adaptive equipment, injury prevention and ergonomics, driving rehabilitation, or vocational rehabilitation
