Job Summary:

As a Pharmacist I with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assessment, intervention, and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems
  • Oversee activities related to compounding and packaging
  • Collaborate with members of the healthcare team to develop professional relationships with patients and families
  • Formulate and implement a medication treatment plan
  • Precept and teach pharmacy residents, staff, and students

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP)
  • Advanced Prescribing Authority (APA)
  • Successful completion of PEBC (or pending results)
  • Recent experience as a pharmacist in a hospital setting providing comprehensive medication management services in a collaborative care model

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Canadian accredited pharmacy residency program or advanced clinical pharmacy degree
  • Recent project experience, volunteer experience, or committee work
  • Recent experience with training and precepting
  • Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists
