Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Sommelier Supervisor to join our team at Marriott International. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional wine service to our guests, while also leading and mentoring our wine service staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with guests, employees, and departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Develop and maintain wine lists, including pairing and suggesting wines to complement menu items.
- Attend wine tastings and build relationships with vendors to source high-quality wines.
- Design and implement wine promotions and incentive programs to drive sales and customer engagement.
- Monitor and replenish wine cellar inventory, equipment, and glassware to ensure optimal service levels.
- Conduct vintage and BIN number checks to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Lead and mentor wine service staff, providing training and coaching to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Assist management in hiring, training, and evaluating staff, while maintaining a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of related work experience, with 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a passion for wine and hospitality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
