Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Engineer to join our team at Sunrise Farms. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our utilities equipment, including ammonia refrigeration plants, heating and air conditioning units, and other critical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on utilities equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Project Management: Provide direction on operational-related projects to meet capability, output, facility, and systems requirements, increase efficiencies, support safety, validation, and meet goals and objectives.
  • Contract Management: Assist in the negotiations of service and contractual agreements and monitor performance of contractors and service personnel for repairs and installations as needed.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in departmental strategic planning, assuring all above functions support branch operations as well as corporate goals and objectives.
  • Logistics and Maintenance: Maintain logbook of the daily operations and maintenance of the equipment. Prepare all required equipment for annual inspection.
  • Fire Safety and Emergency Response: Keep and maintain building firefighting equipment such as fire sprinklers and fire extinguishers.
  • Wastewater Management: Operate and maintain the waste water treatment plant as compliance of the city waste water regulations.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Education: Certified 3rd Class Power Engineer.
  • Experience: 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills: Strong leadership skills, ability to interact with all levels of the organization, knowledge in mechanical engineering, project management, facilities management, systems engineering, equipment maintenance, design & drafting, computer applications, and an ability to provide superior leadership skills.

  • Internal Relationships: Maintenance Manager.
  • External Relationships: Suppliers/Contractors, Trade/Industry Participants, Research & Development Sources.
