Job Title: Power Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a certified 4th Class Power Engineer to join our Maintenance Department at Agropur in Winnipeg. As a Power Engineer, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the ammonia refrigeration systems, high pressure steam boilers, and wastewater treatment system within code requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating and maintaining ammonia refrigeration systems
  • Operating and maintaining high pressure steam boilers
  • Operating and maintaining wastewater treatment system
  • Monitoring and responding to plant alarms
  • Performing specific preventative maintenance work and lubrication tasks
  • Updating maintenance logs and records
  • Completing work orders as assigned by Chief Engineer
  • Working with others to plan and coordinate the completion of work
  • Performing building maintenance tasks throughout the facility as needed
  • Providing a high level of customer service through a proactive approach to daily plant problems and issues
  • Driving innovation and continuous improvement, utilizing skills, observations, and participation
  • Ensuring all maintenance work is conducted within Safety, Food Safety, and Product Quality fundamental requirements

Requirements:

  • 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate
  • Basic electrical and mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills are preferred
  • Must be physically fit with a good attendance and personal safety record
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and as a team member
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe workplace
  • Good written and oral communication skills essential
