Job Summary
The Hospital Hospitality Team Member is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and hospitality services in the food services department at MRHH Food Services (Acute Care). This role involves assisting patients with meals, including meal selection, service, and retrieval, in accordance with their dietary needs and restrictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with making daily menu selections and prepare, assemble, and deliver patient meal trays and snacks.
- Calculate modified diets, fluid restrictions, and calories, and perform various kitchen duties, including sanitation, set-up, and completing temperature logs.
- Use an automated tablet to record and transfer meal selections to the computer.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a clean and safe environment.
Requirements
- Completion of high school education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current and valid Food Safety Proton Certificate from Public Health.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a host/hostess.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic diet information.
- Good command of the English language, including reading, writing, and verbal skills.
- Ability to work productively and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Computer literacy in a Windows environment.
- Proven attendance record.
- Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
- Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others and demonstrates behaviors consistent with Mackenzie Health's Commitment to Caring.
