Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our Virtual Psychiatry Unit at Fraser Health. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide and coordinate the delivery of psychiatric nursing care services to patients, promoting person-centered and recovery-oriented care.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients, identifying actual or potential problems and strengths through nursing diagnosis.
- Provide clinical leadership in evidence-based practices, including nursing assessments, crisis intervention, patient and family education, and health promotion activities.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and the interprofessional care team, promoting cooperation and collaboration.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and research, identifying patient care issues and collecting data to inform practice.
- Perform phlebotomy duties in accordance with BCCNM standards of practice, as required.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- One year recent related experience in inpatient mental health services, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current Class 5 Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
- Completion of a substance use certificate program.
- Counselling and group facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of legislation and government policies and procedures related to mental health and substance use practices.
