About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Montreal. As a key member of our Design and Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for building projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.

With a strong background in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, you will work collaboratively with senior engineers to support the implementation of process engineering systems. Your expertise will be essential in site assessments and reviews to verify the performance and functionality of mechanical systems.

You will provide technical support to project teams, contractors, and clients, actively participating in project planning and coordination efforts. Your ability to analyze heating and cooling loads using computerized methods will be valuable in developing and writing engineering study reports.

As a Mechanical Engineer with our team, you will take responsibility for the production of construction documents and construction administration for projects, reviewing and approving technical documentation. Your commitment to quality assurance checks, fostering innovation, and driving continuous improvement within the engineering team will be essential in delivering sustainable solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems for building projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to support the implementation of process engineering systems.
  • Participate in site assessments and reviews to verify the performance and functionality of mechanical systems.
  • Provide technical support to project teams, contractors, and clients, actively participating in project planning and coordination efforts.
  • Analyze heating and cooling loads using computerized methods.
  • Develop and write engineering study reports.
  • Take responsibility for the production of construction documents and construction administration for projects, reviewing and approving technical documentation.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks, fostering innovation, and driving continuous improvement within the engineering team.
Requirements
  • 7-10 years of experience in mechanical design for industrial and transit facilities, with a strong background in automotive facilities being an asset.
  • Hold a professional engineering license (P.Eng.) and have a comprehensive understanding of AutoCAD MEP, MicroStation, Revit, 3D software, and related tools.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills for effective internal and client interactions.
  • Exhibit the ability to work on multiple project assignments.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.
  • Show proven experience in collaborating with clients, contractors, and other consultants.
  • Possess an excellent understanding of the Quebec Building Code, Quebec Fire Code, Plumbing Code, NFPA, and ASHRAE standards.
  • Familiarity with TSSA Fuel & Pressure vessel codes, and industrial ventilation standards, among other relevant industrial standards is an added asset.
