Reports To: Director of Warehouse Operations

Location: Saint Francois, Ville Saint Laurent

Role Summary:

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor fosters and champions a culture of safety, engaged personnel, and outstanding service within the facility. This role involves significant time spent in the field, offering guidance to the warehouse team and mentoring staff on safety, service, and efficiency. The Supervisor oversees and directs the warehouse team by monitoring, assessing, coaching, and enhancing both individual and team performance. Daily metrics are monitored to implement operational improvements aimed at achieving excellence, ensuring safety, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Champion a culture where health and safety are paramount.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure adherence to company health and safety protocols and relevant regulations.
  • Work alongside regional health and safety managers to execute incident prevention initiatives.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, prioritize tasks, and provide leadership and coaching to team members.
  • Engage in the recruitment, training, and development of personnel.
  • Commit to delivering superior service to all customers.
  • Set operational goals and priorities in collaboration with the Director of Warehouse Operations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate performance.
  • Manage inventory levels, ensuring proper rotation, participating in physical counts, and overseeing incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Assist in implementing cost control strategies, including managing overtime, controlling expenses, and enhancing productivity.
  • Prepare employee schedules to ensure workflow meets or exceeds KPIs.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all handling equipment.
  • Accurately complete necessary records and reports in a timely manner.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or logistics setting.
  • Post-secondary education in operations, logistics, or a related discipline.
  • First aid certification is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Experience in warehouse operations and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with HACCP systems.
  • Dedication to workplace health and safety.
  • Proven ability to lead a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including leadership and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage shifting priorities.
  • Proactive work attitude, results-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with warehouse management software.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
