Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic advice and support to business partners on external communication strategies and tactics that align with business objectives.
  • Develop and implement external communications materials, including key messages, news releases, speaking remarks, presentations, and op-eds.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and identify emerging opportunities and challenges that require proactive communication.
  • Monitor key regional and national news media to stay informed about issues that may impact our operations and reputation.
  • Support the marketing team in their communications efforts and provide communications support for special projects and initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in corporate communications, with a focus on external communications and media relations.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is required to meet the needs of our English-speaking clientele.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, including editing, proofreading, and attention to detail.
  • A demonstrated ability to advise senior leaders and create approaches that address business demands and needs.
  • Solid time management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and produce materials to meet tight deadlines.
