Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Blade Maintenance Specialist to join our team at McCain Foods. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for maintaining a high level of blade sharpness and inventory management to ensure optimal production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Blade Maintenance: Sharpen and maintain a high level of blade sharpness to ensure optimal production efficiency.
  • Inventory Management: Manage and maintain an adequate inventory of cutter blades to meet production demands.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all GMPs, Global BOPs, and Safety processes.
  • Training and Development: Participate in the development of cutter deck operations, providing knowledge and support to other departments as needed.
  • Cost Management: Manage costs associated with blades, working to reduce costs and stay within budget.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Manager, including participating in change management and being an active member of committees and teams.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Graduate
  • Skills and Abilities: Fine attention to detail, effective time management skills, thorough understanding of the manufacturing process, operation of sharpener, grinder, and other equipment, ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively.
  • Experience: Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals, mechanically inclined, and willing to participate in maintenance of equipment.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Able to work in a high humidity, high temperature work environment, physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting 40 – 50 lbs.
