The Team
The Global Finance & Risk Technology (GFRT) Quality Assurance team is tasked with evaluating the applications within GFRT. Our mission is to assess the quality and risk associated with any modifications or enhancements to the applications, which encompass Finance, Risk, and Capital applications, ensuring thorough testing prior to deployment for our Executive Teams worldwide.
Is this role right for you?
- Reporting to the Senior Manager of Quality Assurance, the QA Specialist will oversee and review testing processes for GFRT applications and systems. This includes analyzing requirements and design documentation, developing and reviewing test strategies, and participating in daily testing activities. You will closely monitor testing progress and evaluate defects, balancing risk mitigation with efficient resource utilization while adhering to established Best Practices, Methodologies, Guiding Principles, Standards, and Procedures.
- The QA Specialist must thrive under tight deadlines, manage conflicting priorities, and adapt to changing requirements. Quick reactions are essential for resolving issues, and the ability to work overtime may be necessary to meet deadlines and implement systems with minimal disruption to business users.
- Evaluate multiple overlapping projects with stringent timelines and identify outstanding issues that could impact the promotion of initiatives to the Production environment, offering suggestions to minimize associated risks. Prepare test evaluations and provide recommendations for code promotion to the Production environment while ensuring the highest quality of service in delivering financial processes.
- Guide the testing team and project team members, providing ongoing support and knowledge transfer to enhance performance.
- Contribute to maintaining a stable and professional environment, ensuring departmental objectives are understood and achieved.
- Assist in coordinating testing activities with other departments and interpret detailed information from technical support staff. Participate in forward-planning sessions to identify and resolve conflicts between initiatives.
- Support the successful implementation of solutions for systems and projects, addressing highly complex business applications with intricate integration needs across various technology disciplines.
- Provide input to the project team to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of quality assurance.
- Work with minimal management direction and tackle extremely complex problems.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
- 3-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance.
- A minimum of 3 years in a role related to Corporate Financial Reporting or Regulatory Systems with multiple integration points to various databases/systems for data feeds is highly desired.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Integrated Systems testing and testing of business applications.
- Strong communication skills in English (both verbal and written) with the ability to interact with Senior Management, deliver presentations, and provide status updates.
- Proficient in SQL, with experience in writing complex backend queries for test execution.
- Ability to address all project-related issues and conflicts during the testing cycle.
- Proven experience in strategic planning to ensure the delivery of quality applications.
- Familiarity with HP Quality Center (HPQC) 11.52, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Understanding of Project Management principles.
- Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
- Experience in report validation and reconciliation.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Independent, responsible, accountable, results-driven, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, complex environment.
- Familiarity with automated testing tools is an asset.
- Knowledge of systems design (Agile, Waterfall) and a solid understanding of SDLC, QA, and integration testing methodologies.
- An undergraduate degree or college diploma in Accounting, certification as a Chartered Professional Accountant, or other related disciplines is an asset. Any testing certification is also beneficial.
