Job Title: Glazier

At METRO HARDWARE AND MAINTENANCE, we are seeking a skilled Glazier to join our team. As a Glazier, you will be responsible for installing and repairing glass and other materials in various settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine the type of glass, frames, and materials required for each job
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand work requirements
  • Measure, mark, and cut glass to ensure precise fits
  • Position and secure panes in frames, ensuring proper alignment and sealing
  • Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors, or glass products
  • Install door, window, and other hardware, ensuring smooth operation and safety
  • Repair glass doors and other glass structures, restoring them to their original condition
  • Assemble, erect, and dismantle scaffolding, rigging, and hoisting equipment, working at heights with precision and care
  • Work from man-lift mobile equipment, cranes, and other lifting equipment, demonstrating expertise and attention to detail
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in the field
  • Ability to work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
