Key Responsibilities:

  • Child Safety and Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of the children in your care, providing a secure and nurturing environment.
  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement a weekly childcare curriculum that promotes learning, creativity, and socialization, including arts and crafts, sports activities, and homework club.
  • Support for Single Moms: Provide guidance and support to single moms staying at Nisa Homes, helping them address behavioral or emotional challenges their children may be facing.
  • Resource Access and Referrals: Connect single moms and their children with local resources and services, making referrals when necessary.
  • Play Area Maintenance: Maintain the children's play area, ensuring it remains clean, organized, and safe.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: A relevant degree in Child and Youth Worker, Early Childhood Educator, or a related field, with a minimum of 2-3 years' experience, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Confidentiality and Ethics: Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and ethical care.
  • Language Skills: Additional languages are an asset.
  • Cultural Competence: Possess a strong understanding of the needs and issues of diverse social groups, including women experiencing or at risk of homelessness, women fleeing abuse, and newcomers.
