About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Specialist to join our team at UNITED FLOORS. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of floor coverings for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Prepare Surfaces: Inspect surfaces to be covered and prepare them for installation, including measuring and marking surfaces.
  • Read and Interpret Plans: Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and ensure accurate installation.
  • Install Floor Coverings: Measure, cut, and install carpeting, resilient floor coverings, and hardwood floors, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Inspect and Repair: Inspect installed floor coverings and repair any damage or defects.
  • Estimate and Plan: Estimate costs and materials required for installations and plan work schedules to ensure efficient completion.
  • Operate Equipment: Operate knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting and perform direct glue-down and double-bond carpet installations.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires a high level of physical fitness, as you will be working in a fast-paced environment with heavy lifting, bending, and kneeling. You must be able to distinguish between colors and have good hand-eye coordination.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in floor covering installation.
  • Skills: Efficient interpersonal skills, judgment, organization, and teamwork.
