Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

GFL Environmental is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Windsor, Ontario.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to operate a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and compaction equipment. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Clean and maintain equipment, including lubrication and refilling tanks as required
  • Secure special attachments to equipment as needed
  • Conduct daily pre-operational checks on equipment
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment
  • Provide support to assigned projects in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure all activities are carried out with due regard to personal safety and the safety of others
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator
  • Knowledge of operation of front-end loaders, compaction equipment, and other heavy equipment
  • Valid class G drivers' license and clean drivers abstract
  • Strong work ethic and professional attitude
  • Able to work in various working conditions, including outdoor and off-site locations

  • 80% of the time will be spent outdoors in all types of weather conditions
  • Physical demands include walking, hiking, climbing, bending, lifting, and upper body strength during well purging
  • Position requires the operation of company trucks/ATV's within the site and for offsite purposes
