Job Summary

EVRAZ North America is seeking a Production Operator/Worker to join our team in Winnipeg. This is a physically demanding role that requires working in all weather conditions. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks in a scrapyard environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working in conveyor picking stations to remove unwanted material from the product stream
  • Cleaning production areas, including shoveling, scraping, and sweeping
  • Assisting operators with maintenance and repairs of equipment
  • Assisting with shop and yard cleanliness by removing debris and picking up metal from various places throughout the facility
  • Loading and unloading material and equipment
  • Assisting in organizing and cleaning warehousing and part storage areas

Requirements

  • No experience necessary, but previous work experience in a manufacturing, production, or similar scrapyard/auto part environment will be considered an asset
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, and moderate to heavy lifting and pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds throughout the day
  • Willing and able to work in variable weather conditions, including hot, dry summer conditions and cold, harsh winter conditions
  • Knowledge and understanding of metallic materials, including ferrous and non-ferrous classifications, an asset
  • Able to work with minimal supervision/general oversight
  • Able to communicate clearly, including using a handheld radio
