Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team at the Bank of Montreal. As a key member of our Commercial Banking group, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with our clients, identifying new business opportunities, and providing expert advice on our banking products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute business plans to achieve sales targets and grow our client base.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored solutions to meet their goals.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to pursue them.
  • Provide expert advice on our banking products and services, including credit analysis, risk management, and financial planning.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of our services and products.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and competitor activity, using this knowledge to inform our business strategy.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our clients' industries and markets, using this knowledge to identify new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with our credit and risk teams to ensure that all lending decisions are made in accordance with our policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts within our clients' organizations, using this network to identify new business opportunities and build relationships.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to our management team on our sales performance and business development activities.
Requirements
  • Typically between 4 - 6 years of relevant experience in commercial banking or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of business banking products, lending processes, and loan documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to pursue them.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong technical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
