Opportunity Overview

As a Weapons Engineering Technician with the Canadian Armed Forces, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, including satellite dishes, radar systems, and naval armaments. Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and evaluate electronic equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Operate diagnostic systems, specialized tools, and test equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues
  • Perform diagnostic analysis on components and systems to determine root causes of problems
  • Repair faulty electronic equipment to ensure minimal downtime
  • Inspect, maintain, and install electronic components to ensure system reliability
  • Compile logs, reports, and maintenance documentation to track system performance and maintenance history
  • Read and interpret electronic drawings to understand system architecture and component relationships
Eligibility Requirements
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Canada
  • Be at least 18 years old (17 years old with parental consent), except for certain programs
  • Have completed at least Grade 10 or Secondaire IV in Québec, including Grade 10 Applied Math and a Physics course (if applicable)
Training and Education

As a Weapons Engineering Technician, you will undergo comprehensive training and education to develop the skills and knowledge required for this role. This includes basic military training, naval environmental training, and specialized training in electronics and communications systems.

If you already have a diploma or Red Seal for a related civilian trade, you may be eligible for the Direct Entry Plan. This program allows you to enter the Canadian Armed Forces as a military member and receive training and education to develop the skills and knowledge required for this role.
