Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Treaty Associate to join our team at Munich Re. As a key member of our reinsurance team, you will be responsible for drafting and interpreting reinsurance treaties, amendments, and related documents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Treaty Drafting and Interpretation
    • Draft and interpret reinsurance treaties, amendments, and policy forms, including LOIs and pricing files.
    • Review and analyze treaty documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Business Analysis and Compliance
    • Assist with general business analysis and compliance activities, including reviewing and maintaining treaty templates.
    • Work with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate treaty interpretations and research.
  • Contract Development and Maintenance
    • Develop and maintain Munich Re's treaty templates, including documentation of exceptions to template wording.
    • Work with legal advisors to develop appropriate contract wording and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Reporting and Data Management
    • Ensure that Munich Re's internal treaty log is up-to-date and accurately reflects treaty information.
    • Produce periodic management reports related to treaties and ensure compliance with home office guidelines.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Law, English, or similar field.
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant life (re)insurance experience.
  • Language Skills
    • Fluency in English and French languages, verbal and written.
  • Desirable Skills
    • Knowledge of living benefits products.
    • Reinsurance treaty experience.
    • Technical writing experience.
