Role Overview:

As a Lead Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital platforms. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing robust backend systems that support our educational initiatives.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Implementing best practices in software development to ensure the reliability and scalability of our systems.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting system performance to maintain optimal user experiences.

Key Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Proficiency in modern programming languages, including Ruby and JavaScript.
  • Experience with backend frameworks such as Ruby on Rails.
  • A solid understanding of relational databases, particularly Postgres.
  • Familiarity with API design and development, ensuring security and usability.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

This position allows for remote work, offering flexibility in your work environment. A conversational level of English is required for effective communication.

Compensation: The starting salary for this role ranges from $40,000 to $60,000 CAD annually, with opportunities for performance-based raises.
