Post-Production Systems Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:
The role involves providing maintenance and engineering assistance to Picture and Sound operations. A Systems Specialist at Company 3 is tasked with designing, constructing, monitoring, and maintaining various systems to enhance the uptime and performance of infrastructure equipment. This position aims to increase visibility into systems and services while improving the overall efficiency of workflows across the facility. The Systems Specialist collaborates with team members from all departments, including Operations, Facilities, and Production IT, to address technology challenges that affect specific productions and the overall productivity of Company 3.
MAIN DUTIES:
The primary responsibilities of this position focus on engineering support for Picture Post-production, but they extend across all departments.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Engineering Responsibilities:
Deliver maintenance and engineering support to Picture and Sound operations Configure and set up new systems Advocate for technical solutions within the operations department Provide technical expertise to minimize downtime Troubleshoot production workflows while adhering to Company 3's security standards Train production personnel on new equipment and systems Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation Stay updated with technology and industry advancements Be prepared for moderate shift work, on-call duties, and occasional weekend work during peak production periods Perform additional tasks as assigned by the VP of Engineering & TechnologySecurity Responsibilities:
Aid in ensuring compliance with established security protocols in Engineering and across departmental operations and workflows Assist in the implementation, enhancement, and monitoring of Company 3's security policies and proceduresQuality of Service:
Ensure outstanding customer service by recognizing and addressing the needs of operations and clients Communicate any technical concerns promptly and effectively Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and values of Company 3QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess experience with SDI and digital media over network video, as well as network and operating systems, routing systems, and control systems within a post-production or broadcast environment. A strong understanding of Windows, Linux, and Mac OS, along with their interactions with Apple and PC hardware, is essential. Familiarity with post-production software such as DaVinci Resolve, Colorfront Trankskoder, Express Dailies / On Set Dailies, Avid Media Composer, Apple Final Cut, and Avid ProTools is highly desirable. Additional preferred skills include:
Technical knowledge of various film and television specifications and standards Ability to assess, learn, and implement new software and hardware solutions Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining professionalism Self-motivated, with the capability to work effectively in a team setting Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Understanding of standard and high dynamic range video content, including current delivery standards Experience with professional broadcast streaming technologies, such as Streambox and Clearview products, along with live network video streaming products like NDI is a plus Background in sound engineering support is advantageousABOUT COMPANY 3:
