Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will assist in the management and operation of a First Class powerhouse, ensuring optimal performance of mechanical systems. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Chief Power Engineer in daily operations.
- Maintaining client comfort across connected facilities.
- Collaborating with the powerhouse team to ensure effective heating and cooling.
Conditions of Employment:
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
- Possession of a valid Manitoba 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check and other relevant background checks.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Physical capability to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
- Availability for shift work, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Experience in a steam plant environment (1st, 2nd, or 3rd Class).
- Proficiency in operating mechanical systems and conducting preventative maintenance.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and public interaction.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Knowledge of safety practices and relevant legislation.
Desired:
- Experience with computerized building control systems.
- Familiarity with Fire Alarm Systems.
