Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Mechanical Engineering team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our Buildings Mechanical & Electrical Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of mechanical systems for various building types.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, EITs, and designers, providing guidance and support.
- Act as a mentor to the team, helping individuals develop their skills and advance in their careers.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables on all projects undertaken by the team.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Ensure all engineering work meets quality standards and codes, while ensuring client expectations are met.
- Review and approve technical designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Address and resolve any technical issues or challenges that arise during project execution.
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines and architects.
- Maintain and manage strong relationships with clients, architects, and contractors.
- Implement and promote best practices and continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering consulting industry focus on the design of mechanical systems for buildings.
- A valid PEO license.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, codes, and standards.
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects, including timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- An ability to work collaboratively.
- Desire to participate in client management and business development activities.
